Blackfeet Buffalo Program

Since 1979, the Blackfeet Nation Buffalo Program has managed and strengthened the buffalo herd on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. Today, the Program manages nearly 26,000 acres for a growing, free-ranging herd while providing buffalo hunting opportunities for both Blackfeet Tribal members and non-member hunters.

Through responsible herd and range management, the Buffalo Program provides Blackfeet people with access to the traditional gifts of the buffalo while offering hunters and visitors opportunities to experience these majestic animals and the lands they inhabit.
